Nancy Van Note Chism is Professor of
Higher Education and Student Affairs at the Indiana University School of
Education. From 1999 to 2006, she was Associate Vice Chancellor for Academic
Affairs and Associate Dean of the Faculties at Indiana University Purdue
University Indianapolis. In this role, she provided leadership for central
services supporting faculty and academic staff as administrators, teachers, and
scholars. She now carries the title of Senior Associate of the Office for
Professional Development at IUPUI. She is Past President of the Professional
and Organizational Development Network in Higher Education and in 1998 received
the service award of that association. She previously served as Director of
Faculty and TA Development at The Ohio State University. She has consulted on
professional development or college teaching and learning at more than 50
campuses in the United States and internationally. Dr. Chism's latest book is a
second edition of Peer Review of Teaching: A Sourcebook (Anker), which will
appear in Spring 2007. She has authored or co-authored over 60 additional
publications on professional and organizational development and college
teaching and learning.
