Dr. Christian Blanchette
is the Director of Teaching and Learning Support Service for the University
of Ottawa. He leads a team that is devoted to quality and innovation
in university teaching. The team's work focuses on fully merging campus-based
and distributed learning infrastructure, e-learning development, active
learning integration and transformative professional development into
cohesive, responsive and effective support mechanisms for faculty
members and students.
Over the years, Dr. Blanchette hasinitiated or led more than 12 national initiatives in teaching, learning and e-learning. Recently, he was the lead investigtor for the University Collaborative Communities for e-Learning Adoption (an initiative funded by CANARIE that includes projects like FacDev.ca and e-kit). Dr. Blanchette is also one of the co-founders of the Institute for the Advancement of Teaching in Higher Education and currently sits on its board of directors. |
