Karron G. Lewis is Associate
Director for Instructional Consultation & Research in the
Division of Instructional Innovation & Assessment (DIIA) at the
University of Texas at Austin. Dr. Lewis has been involved in faculty
and TA development since 1972 when, at the University of Nebraska,
Lincoln, she provided pedagogical and individualized feedback expertise
for Project TEACH, an Exxon Education Foundation grant to develop
teaching modules for training Chemistry TAs as teachers.
Her publications include Face to Face: A Sourcebook of Individual
Consultation Techniques for Faculty/Instructional Developers (2nd
ed), a New Directions for Teaching and Learning volume entitled
Techniques and Strategies for Interpreting Student Evaluations,
and over 35 articles and invited book chapters. She is past editor
of the Journal of Staff, Program and Organization Development
and founding editor for The Journal of Graduate Teaching Assistant
Development.
She has consulted with over a thousand individual faculty and graduate
students on teaching related issues and is currently working with
several departments and colleges to develop peer review strategies
and training for peer reviewers. She has been involved in faculty
and TA development at the University of Texas at Austin since 1978
and is a past president of the POD Network (1993-1995).
