Linda Manning earned her PhD in Economics from the University of Illinois, Chicago. Her research interests include the integration of technology into the classroom, especially how teaching beliefs and practices are affected by technology. In addition, she researches the integration of international skilled workers in the Canadian workplace and the role of technology in economic development. She sees teaching as an opportunity to challenge students to exceed their own expectations and take away from the classroom skills and attributes that will serve them well throughout life. With 12 years of experience implementing service learning in a variety of forms, she has found that the mutual benefit to students and the organizations they serve surprisingly enriching and a wonderful thing to observe.
