Mathew L. Ouellett is the Director of
the Center for Teaching, University of
Massachusetts Amherst. He is current president-elect of the Professional and
Organizational Development Network (POD) in Higher Education and is
a
past president of the New England Faculty Development Consortium (NEFDC). In
addition he serves as an adjunct faculty member in the School of Education,
University of Massachusetts Amherst where he teaches EDUC 595K: Introduction to
College Teaching annually.
Dr. Ouellett has consulted with hundreds of individual graduate students and
faculty members as a consultant on teaching development and diversity-related
issues. In his capacity as associate director, he works closely with department
chairs, deans, and the office of the provost to implement a broad range of
teaching and diversity related programs for graduate students and faculty
members across the disciplines.
Since 1994 he has been responsible for the academic year-long faculty
and graduate student teaching development fellowship, Teaching and
Learning in the Diverse Classroom Faculty and Teaching Assistant Development
Program. Additionally, he heads up the Teaching Documentation Program
(a future faculty preparation program). In addition Dr. Ouellett is
the editor of Teaching Inclusively: Resources for Course, Department
and Institutional Change in Higher Education (New Forums Press,
2005). |
