Faculty ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mary Deane Sorcinelli Associate Provost Faculty Development University of Massachusetts Amherst, Massachusetts, USA msorcinelli@acad.umass.edu Mary Deane Sorcinelli is Associate Provost for Faculty Development, Associate Professor in the Department of Educational Policy and Research Administration, University of Massachusetts Amherst, and Project Director of a new Mutual Mentoring Initiative funded by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation. She is a Past President of the POD Network (2000-04). She holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in English and a doctoral degree in Higher Education. Under Dr. Sorcinelli’s leadership, the Center for Teaching at the University of Massachusetts Amherst was cited as one of the top four Model Faculty Development Programs in the U.S. and Canada (2006), and was awarded the 2002 Innovation Award from the Professional and Organizational Development Network and the 2000 Hesburgh Award for Faculty Development to Enhance Undergraduate Teaching and Learning.
