Faculty ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Peg Weissinger Director, Extended Learning Institute Northern Virginia Community College Annandale, Virginia, USA pweissinger@nvcc.edu Peg Weissinger is Director of the Extended Learning Institute, the distance learning unit for Northern Virginia Community College. With a staff of 30, the unit supports approximately 170 faculty teaching over 300 e-learning courses with over 8000 students each semester. In addition to her job in the community college, Peg also teaches as an adjunct for the educational leadership graduate program at The George Washington University. Peg earned her Ed.D. in Higher Education and Student Affairs from Indiana University; an M.A.T. from DePauw University; and B.A. from Purdue University. Her research interests include distance learning, adult literacy and critical thinking. In 2003 she co-organized the National Institute for New Faculty Developers. Peg is a past Core Committee member of the POD Network.
